This decision is made with the SAFETY of both children and staff in mind due to the remoteness of our location.  Please RESPECT this decision and be aware that every effort will be made to RESCHEDULE cancelled classes.  The Leighton Centre apologizes for any inconvenience caused due to these cancellations.

Check out 'A la Art

Our 'in-house' school program will bring some of the spirit of the Leighton Art Centre to your school! In addition to our regular full-day courses offered on site at the Leighton Centre, we now offer an in-school morning program.  'A la Art Launches November 1st and it promises to be a marvelous addition to our school program menu.

Our experienced, enthusiastic instructor will come into your school, share the Leighton story and then work with the students on two art projects.  Each student will make a sketchbook and learn some sketching exercises.  Then it is time to explore your school property to sketch and look with 'artist eyes'.  After recess students will make one of our most popular art projects.  These projects have been selected for their connection to the Alberta curriculum and their portability. To book this program visit our A la Art page here.

This program is designed to enhance the schools Alberta curriculum art, science, social studies and language arts. It is an invaluable means of influencing the next generation to value and appreciate art and develop a connection with the landscape.
