Welcome to A la Art
Cant't make it out to the Leighton Art Centre? Have your students participate in our fresh, innovative A la Art program. Bring the spirit of the Leighton Art Centre to your classroom! In addition to our regular full-day courses offered onsite at the Leighton Art Centre we offer an in school, morning or afternoon program for Grades K-6. A la Art is available October thru June and is an exciting addition to our school program menu.

Our experienced, enthusiastic educator will come into your class, share the Leighton story and work with the students on two art projects. Kindergarten students will get their own Leighton art workbook to use to explore their classroom and then work on an art project. Grades 1-6 students will make a sketchbook and learn some sketching techniques. Then it’s time to explore their school property to look with ‘artist eyes’ and use their new sketchbook. After recess students will make one of our popular art projects. These projects have been selected for their connection to the Alberta Curriculum and their portability.
