Located on 80 acres SW of Calgary the Leighton Art Centre offers a year round Art and Nature program to 12,000 Calgary and area school children. Children are introduced to the landscape while exploring the creative process through hands on art projects, a nature/environmental study and a guided tour of the Leighton Residence (museum and gallery). 12,000 school children per year are given the opportunity to “unleash the art” inside them.

This program is designed to enhance the schools Alberta curriculum art, science, social studies and language arts. It is an invaluable means of influencing the next generation to value and appreciate art and develop a connection with the landscape.
