Giselle grew up in a small town in Saskatchewan where she developed a passion for the arts. She attended the Alberta College of Art and Design and majored in Ceramics, drawn to its infinite possibilities and therapeutic potential. After completeing her Bachelor of Fine Arts in 2006, she moved to Montreal and continued her education with a Bachelor of Pyschology at Concordia University, with an interest in Art Therapy.
She taught ceramics in Montreal and worked for several years in the field of brain injury and developemental disabilities before returning to Alberta in 2012. Giselle works primarily in ceramic, making both functional pottery and figurative sculpture, although she has never given up her passion for painting. Painted decoration is an important element in her work and she incorporates pattern on her surfaces using underglaze transfers, slip decoration, and graffito.
