Welcome to the Gallery Shoppe. We feature 100% Canadian content and all artists represented in our shop are members of the Leighton Art Centre. With over 350 participating artist members, the Gallery Shoppe provides high quality, unique items for all occasions.
Open Tuesday through Saturday from 10am to 4pm, customers always comment on the friendly and relaxed atmosphere provided by this former residence of A.C. and Barbara Leighton.
The Gallery Shoppe carries artwork from some of Canada’s finest landscape painters such as Jim Brager, Bill Duma, Terry Fenton, Brent Laycock and Robert McInnis to mention just a few. We offer an excellent selection and a wide range of sizes, prices, and styles, however, we do specialize in traditional landscape art.
Besides visual art we offer a variety of handmade pottery by Alberta artisans, each being distinctive in colour and style. Custom orders are welcomed by some of the artists and new designs are always being created.
All glassware is hand-blown by Strathmore artists Mark Gibeau and Lori Hedemark who are well known Alberta glass artisans.
Our selection of scarves are all wearable works of art made from the finest wools, cotton chenille and luscious silk satins. Hand dyed velvets and double silk georgettes make the perfect gift for someone special. Stripes, florals and patterns are available in a wide range of colours to suit every taste.
One of our best selling small crafts has been our extensive selection of beautiful jewelry. You can choose from exquisite pieces made with fresh water pearls, semi-precious stones and sterling silver, or fun bracelets and beads made of glass, copper and wood. Whatever your decision may be, all pieces are reasonably priced and well made.
We provide a small selection of art related books, some for reference, other’s instructional and some are just plain fun and entertaining.
Complete your gift giving with an art card from an original painting, photographic image of the west, or a reproduction of one of A.C. Leighton’s famous landscapes. Always nice mementos of your visit to the Gallery, the Leighton cards are packaged in sets of four.
