As an artist member you are privileged to enjoy our 80 acre property and the unique opportunity to engage your creative senses in one of Alberta’s most beautiful landscape settings. As an artist member you are invited to special artist functions as well as the opportunities to participate in group shows and sales. We offer painting workshops designed for all levels of skill. Call for Art Exhibition Submissions
As members of the Leighton Art Centre we would encourage you to submit your exhibition proposals to the Leighton gallery. The gallery has approximately four exhibition slots available per year. Submissions for exhibition proposals are due yearly on September 30th and will be considered for the 2012 exhibition schedule. We are presently finalizing the 2011 schedule and plan approximately a year and half in advance. The proposal guidelines are available on the right and labeled “Download our exhibition guidelines and application form”. We are looking forward to your submissions.
Call to Enter "The Forest Show" The Alberta Society of Artists
The United Nations Forum on Forests officially announced 2011 as the International Year of the Forest. In honour of this special year, the Alberta Society of Artists is holding an open juried exhibition inviting all Alberta artists to submit artwork in their chosen medium in honour of forests. Throughout 2011 this exhibition will be featured in Alberta galleries and will hang at the Leighton Art Centre in June 20 2011. Some of the artwork will be chosen to be part of tha AFA Trex Travelling Exhibition Program.
