A.C. Leighton founded the Alberta Society of Artists in 1931.

Join art historian, writer and curator, Nancy Townshend, as she discusses those early years including A.C.’s early explorations in the Canadian Rockies in 1925, 1927 and 1929 while working for the Canadian Pacific, his variety of media, and the effect of the inaugural ASA on Alberta artists.

Nancy Townshend was awarded a Centennial Medal in 2005 for her contributions to the visual and literary arts in Alberta.
