Artist Professional Development: Sharing Your Knowledge


Do you have a special technique or skill that you wish to pass along to others? Do you dream of holding workshops or classes? Join Instructor Michelle Wiebe as she leads you through what you need to know to engage your audience, transfer your knowledge, partner with organizations and harness the creative energy of a learning environment. Class participants will learn ways to spark discussion, plan lessons and budgets, keep an event focused, manage large and small groups and have students leaving with the information they want and need as they continue building their newly acquired skills.

Audience: This workshop is open to any artist wanting to learn more about sharing their art skills and love of art! 

Supplies:  Most supplies will be provided at the workshop. Please bring the following items with you on to the workshop: 

  • Sketchbook or notebook  
  • Fine tipped pen & pencil  
  • Reading glasses (if needed for fine work)  
  • Lunch, snacks & water bottle  
  • Weather appropriate clothing (you will be walking around the Leighton property) 


Registration cost:  $75 plus GST & Eventbrite fees*

Artist Biography 

Michelle Wiebe is a Cochrane, Alberta-based artist focused primarily on painting, printmaking and letterpress. Regularly found teaching workshops all over Western Canada, Michelle is a passionate instructor with a deep love of sharing knowledge. Michelle makes it her goal that students leave her class with quality work and the confidence to continue building their new skills. She has worked extensively with all ages as a demonstrator and teaching one on one instruction, weekly group classes and intensive weekend workshops.
