The Leighton Art Centre invites you to explore the fun process of felting with Emma Knox!
Participants will learn beginner through to more advanced techniques in order to create a 3D sculpture of an animal, inspired by our local wildlife. This class will get you and your family started needle felting as Emma will discuss the proper way to use a felting needle, wool as well as guide participants through different techniques to bring your felted critter to life, including the formation of limbs, tails, spots, stripes, and more!
Audience: 3D Sculpture Felting is ideal for families with children ages 7 + and curious adults - please note that sharp needles will be used during the workshop. Safety procedures and proper use of the needle will be covered.
Supplies: All required supplies are included.
Single participant: $25 (for a single adult or an extra child)
Family Ticket (2 adults & 2 children aged 7 – 17): $ 75

Emma Knox is an artist based out of Calgary. She found her love of needle felting at the Leighton Art Centre and has applied it to her passion of theatre. She specialises in the design and development of technical elements of theatre, where she found her love of mask making, costumes, make up special effects, prop making and scenic painting.
