Painting with Pastels and Susan Woolgar

Susan will take you through the steps of blending, mark making and under-painting with this old and versatile art form. This class is for all levels of artist who wish to try this wonderful medium and just experiment using chalk and various surfaces. Painting with Pastels is a great place to try out your new Pastels you created earlier in the year with Susan! The following supplies are needed for the workshop:

Easel, board to mount paper
Bull dog clips
Green garbage bag
3 sheets of either hot press watercolor paper or rives bfk printmaking paper
A loaf of white bread
Pastels
Small roller for making their surfaces
Old newsprint
Reference, sketchbook black sharpie, 2b pencil a couple of cheap hogs bristle brushes medium size for underpainting, small container for some methyl hydrate (I will supply)

A few things to remember:

We are a rural location so please bring a lunch and drinks for the day
Dress in layers as the weather at our beautiful facility can change quite a bit during the day and our facilities can be a bit chilly
Give yourself extra time to get here as we are a ways out and you do not want to miss a minute of your exciting workshop!
