Supply List

Small watercolour kit:

(I use a Winsor and Newton field kit as it has a water bottle and water reservoir attached. If you use any other kind of w/c palette, make sure it has a largish mixing area.)

Watercolours:

  • Pthalo blue
  • Ultramarine blue
  • Warm red (like vermillion or napthol red light)
  • Cool red (like permanent rose)
  • Cool yellow (like hansa yellow light or cadmium yellow light)
  • Warm yellow (like gamboges hue)
  • Burnt sienna
  • Nice to have but not necessary: dioxazine purple, perinone orange, quinacridone gold
  • Water bottle for painting and to drink.
  • Coil bound sketchbook with at least 110 lb. paper in it in size 5”x7” or 6”x9” (I prefer the Robert Bateman Cover Series sketch book - 110 lb acid free pages, 100% recycled paper, 50 sheets each. I DO NOT like to use watercolour paper as it takes too long to dry.)
  • Extra fine point black Sharpie marker
  • Paintbrush (#8 round is best, if you have it throw in a ½” flat)
  • Kleenex, Garbage bag
  • Large elastic to go around your sketch book, paper clip
  • Camera, folding stool or chair to sit on, hat with brim, bug spray, sun screen
  • Please bring a lunch, drinks and weather appropriate clothes as this is a outdoor workshop.
  • A good attitude and a sense of adventure!
